Redesign of both main exhibitions
After 23 years, the Kulturama Museum of Human Evolution will completely renew its two main exhibitions in the museum hall, redesigning them and adding additional exhibits and activities to provide our visitors with attractive and interactive access to knowledge and science about humans in the decades to come.
Both exhibitions will be completely bilingual in German and English and will have a variety of interactive experiences and activities as well as new exhibits. With the planned new scenography, the Kulturama will be even better able to fulfil its claim of being a «museum for all». Your donation will help provide the necessary resources to implement the redesign from 2024 to 2026.
During the renovation period, the Kulturama will remain open throughout with all its educational offers. A temporary replacement exhibition has been created on the upper floor for the area currently being renovated including an interaktive "Experience Room Stone Age". From spring 2026, we will present our completely renewed permanent exhibition 'Where We Come From' once again in the basement.
Charity Concert at the Kulturama
A charity concert took place on 17 March 2024. The 7ner-Oktetts Zürich thrilled the audience at the Kulturama Museum of Human Evolution. Many thanks to everyone who supported us with a donation.
Support from Swisslos
A contribution from Swisslos (charitable fund of the Canton of Zurich) is helping the Kulturama to modernise its two main exhibitions. On 25 November 2023, the museum was featured in a report on Swiss television.
Support the Kulturama
Your donation will help us to redesign the two permanent exhibitions "Where we come from" and "Who we are" at the Kulturama from 2024 to 2027.
Every donation of CHF 500 or more will receive an invitation to the reopening after the renovation and, with your consent, a presence on the donation board in the museum for at least a year.
